The challenge of returning or “It still works”

The challenge for a photographer returning to a familiar place. To the backstage hustle and bustle of theatre performances, which are unlikely to change dramatically from year to year. To the actors' repeated confrontations with the image in the mirror or with the still empty stalls. Boštjan's challenge is to see it as if seen for the first time. That's why he catches glances and gestures, reflections, light and shadows with the same freshness and playfulness. The composition still works, as does the kaleidoscope of colours. This year, his photographs again convincingly reveal the backstage serenity that drives the Maribor Theatre Festival.
